Celestia
This is a family board game with a "push your luck" mechanic, where players embark on adventures together aboard a flying ship. According to legend, Gulliver sought the magical world of Celestia during his travels but never found it. You and your team, however, have succeeded and now journey through mysterious cities in search of treasures. But alongside rewards, obstacles await—pirates, storms, and less-than-friendly birds. Can you prove yourself a true captain and claim the rewards for your bravery?
How to Play "Celestia"?
A game of "Celestia" consists of several journeys on an airship from one city to another, ending in the City of Lights—Magee. Players take turns acting as the ship’s captain. The captain is responsible for ensuring the ship reaches the next city, overcoming threats along the way. Passengers, meanwhile, decide whether to continue the journey or disembark to claim a city’s treasure.
Game Flow
Each journey consists of several steps:
- The captain rolls dice to determine threats. The number of dice to roll is indicated on the next city tile.
- Each passenger decides whether to stay aboard or disembark. If a passenger disembarks, they take a treasure card but no longer participate in the journey. Those who stay fly to the next city, provided they and the captain overcome the threat. The farther the city, the more valuable the treasures.
- The captain faces the threats. They play equipment cards matching the color of the dice faces. Passengers still aboard may optionally play enhancement cards to help.
- The captain moves the airship. If the threats are overcome, the ship advances to the next city. If the captain fails, the ship crashes, ending the journey and starting a new one.
- The captain passes control to the next player.
New Journey and Game End
Each new journey in a session begins with these steps:
- Place the ship on the first city tile.
- Place all player pawns in the ship.
- Each player takes one equipment card.
If, before a new journey begins, a player has treasure cards with a total value of 50 or more, the game ends immediately. The player with the most points wins.
"Celestia: A Little Help"
This first expansion introduces new equipment cards to avoid shipwrecks and enhanced equipment cards to tackle all possible threats in the world of Celestia.
"Celestia: A Little Initiative"
This second expansion introduces "Boat" cards, allowing adventurers to continue their journey alone—because victory without risk yields triumph without glory! An adventurer in a boat faces threats solo!

We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, reviewing the illustrated PDF rules in detail in the “Files” section.
One Last Note
Simple rules, quick sessions, and beautiful components make "Celestia" a fantastic board game for families or groups of friends. Galu the Rooster is certain that the spirit of adventure and thrill will leave no one at the table indifferent.
We also recommend checking out a family-friendly board game with a push-your-luck mechanic—"The Quacks of Quedlinburg". In this game, players aim to brew the best potion by drawing ingredients from their bag. The finest potions require the best ingredients, which aren’t cheap. But beware: adding too many special ingredients might make your potion explode!
