The great Pharaoh Mino has died, and power has passed to his eldest son Mido. Disappointed with the plain appearance of the pyramid where his father was buried, Pharaoh Mido decided to plan his legacy in advance.
“Pyramido” is an abstract board game with quick sessions and easy rules, where 2 to 4 architects must build “Pyramido”—a jewel-adorned tomb reflecting the pharaoh’s grandeur. The architect who best pleases the pharaoh will become chief advisor, gaining boundless wealth and power.
Gameplay
Over four rounds, each player builds their own four-level pyramid. By connecting tiles with matching treasures, players score prestige points and aim to impress the pharaoh with their building prowess.
The game lasts 4 rounds, adding one pyramid level each time. On your turn, you have 2 to 4 actions:
- Place a domino token
- Place a gem chip
- Place a single-tile card
- Refresh the quarry
Choose an available domino token from the quarry and place it in your building area, laying the pyramid’s foundation. The quarry is a shared market of tokens for all players. If you have a gem chip matching a symbol on the newly placed token, you must place it—this decorates the pyramid.
Then, you may attach a single-tile card from your hand to the domino token. This action is optional but can greatly aid construction.
Next, add a new domino token from the supply to the quarry and pass the turn. When placing tokens in the pyramid, you can rotate them freely, as long as each new token fully touches previously placed ones without overlapping or going outside the pyramid bounds. Tokens of different colors may touch.
A round ends when all architects complete one level of their pyramid.
Who Wins?
Victory points are scored at the end of each round. All tiles of the same color that touch form a single area—you score points only for areas decorated with gem chips. Each gem symbol in an area with a chip earns 1 victory point. Points are tallied and noted after each round; after the fourth, the player with the most total points is declared the winner and new vizier to Pharaoh Mino!

One Last Note
This game suits both relaxed family evenings with kids and brain-teasing strategy for two. Whether you love abstracts or not, Galu the Rooster insists you must try “Pyramido.”
We also suggest checking out another equally engaging abstract game — “Bonsai”, where players act as master bonsai growers cultivating their tiny tree. The one who creates the finest bonsai earns the honor of presenting their masterpiece in the emperor’s gardens.
