Build a mushroom village, settle fairies into homes on the clearing, and guide them through the fairy ring to score as many points as possible. You have just two seasons to do it, so every decision is critical to victory!
About the Board Game "Fairy Ring"
This is a vibrant, approachable fantasy game with enchanting illustrations, where 2 to 4 players compete for mana to construct a mushroom village and ready it for winter.
Though "Fairy Ring" may seem simple and childlike at first glance, it’s a deep strategic game that demands watching your opponents, developing your village, and carefully planning new structures. The game lasts only two rounds, with each player getting just 7 cards per round, leaving no room for careless moves. Yet the rules stay streamlined, and gameplay flows briskly.
Gameplay Overview
At the start, each player receives a village board and a fairy figure in their chosen color. Players draw an initial card and place it on the left side of their board, then the first round begins.
The game spans two rounds. At the start of each round, players take 7 cards into their hand. Each round consists of 6 turns, with every turn following these steps:
- Choose 1 card and place it face-down on the right side of your village board.
- Move your fairy forward as many mushroom spaces as indicated on the chosen card.
- Gain mana based on the mushroom your fairy lands on.
After all players complete these three steps, pass your remaining cards to the player on your left. This continues until the round ends.
End of Round
After playing 6 cards (6 turns), the round concludes, and the seventh card is discarded. Each player draws 7 new cards from the deck marked "2," and the second round begins with the same rules. The player with the most victory points by the end of the second round wins.
Mushrooms, Mana, and Neighborly Visits
The mushroom village on the enchanted clearing grows both outward and upward. The game features 6 types of mushrooms, each with unique properties. A neighbor’s fairy visiting activates your mushroom, granting you mana based on its size. If your neighbor has a mushroom of the same color, they gain mana too. Collecting at least 20 mana earns a player 1 victory point.
