Launch the boat. Breathe the salty air. Wipe your nose. Cast the line. Reel it in.
“Deep Regrets” is a dreadful fishing game for 1–5 adults, where players haul increasingly grotesque creatures from the briny depths. Master your madness, tempt fate, and remember to pray as you embark on this terrifying voyage.
Gameplay
In “Deep Regrets,” you’ll spend a week at sea, competing with fellow anglers for the most valuable catch. At the same time, you’ll wrestle with regret and manage your sanity. Over six days, players roll dice to determine daily energy, then decide whether to stay at sea fishing or head to port to sell the catch and restock. Turns pass clockwise each day until all players pass. At the week’s end, tally points to crown the winner.
There’s One Catch
Regret. It can creep up unexpectedly. Accumulating regret might yield greater rewards. But push your luck too far, and you’ll have to sacrifice something. At game’s end, the player burdened with the heaviest regret, overwhelmed by madness and guilt, must discard one of their trophy fish collected during the game.
Can you win with the most regret? Maybe. But it’s like sailing a boat with a hole in the hull.
Mini-Expansion
“Lamentable Tentacles” is a mini-expansion for “Deep Regrets,” adding 18 extra fish cards. These cards diversify gameplay and are compatible with solo mode.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, exploring the illustrated PDF rules in the “Files” section.
One Last Note
Galu the Rooster recommends trying this unusually extraordinary horror game, especially if you’re a fan of H.P. Lovecraft’s works.
We also suggest checking out another equally intriguing cooperative game — “Eldritch Horror”. This adventure game steeped in dark mystical terror tasks players with a daunting mission: unite to shield the world from total annihilation. Lunatics on the streets, nightmare monsters, and ruthless fanatic cults are mere harbingers of an Ancient One awakening to enslave our world.
The game packaging does not use external plastic wrap.
The game is sealed with special transparent circular stickers on both sides of the box.
