From the bustling bazaars of Istanbul to the icy wastes of Tunguska, from the ancient pyramids of Egypt to the shimmering lights of Tokyo, rumors of nightmarish monsters have begun to spread. Some say these creatures ruled the earth long before humans but were trapped. Only a few know the frightening truth – these are invaders from another world, and it is we who are trapped...
Evil lurking on the threshold
Eldritch Horror is an adventure cooperative game with a dark atmosphere of a mystical horror story. Players are faced with the daunting task of working together to protect the world from the threat of total annihilation. Madmen on the streets, monsters from nightmares, and brutal fanatical cults are just harbingers of the awakening of an Ancient Deity striving to enslave our world.
Otherworldly Horror and Unexpected Heroes
There are several contenders for the new ruler of the Earth, each affecting the game world in its own way. Eldritch Horror boasts an excellent nonlinear storyline, which directly depends on which Ancient One becomes the main antagonist of the game.
The characters, from whose perspective the players will act, are also very diverse. When it comes to the end of the world, any talents can come in handy, so among the hero-saviors, there is a place for a street musician, a wise historian, a battle-hardened soldier, and many others.
How does the game work?
The gameplay of the board game Eldritch Horror is divided into rounds, each containing only 3 phases:
- In the Action Phase, heroes travel around the world map, rest, and make purchases, as well as use their unique abilities.
- In the Encounter Phase, players gain valuable information by interacting with locals, fighting monsters, and conducting risky expeditions in search of powerful artifacts.
- In the Mythos Phase, global events occur, gates to other worlds open, and new monsters immediately break through.
Victory or oblivion
To win, players need to solve three dreadful mysteries, each unique to the Ancient One. If the evil deity awakens before this, players will have to battle it, which is almost equivalent to suicide. If all heroes perish, the game ends in defeat – darkness envelops the world, and a new order arises where there is no place for humanity.
Difficult decisions
The board game Eldritch Horror is truly epic, as the fate of all humanity is in the hands of a handful of players. Create your own incredible story of victory in a desperate struggle for the right to exist or of a tragic defeat that will serve as a warning for the future inhabitants of planet Earth.
