The garden’s in total chaos. Every night, clever little rabbits hop out of their hideouts to munch on cabbage while the gardeners sleep. Waking up, the sharp-eyed gardeners track the rabbits and find the little rascals under the cabbage!
The goal is straightforward. Gardeners win if they catch both rabbits before they eat 9 cabbages. Rabbits, in turn, win if one eats the ninth cabbage and at least one rabbit remains uncaught.
About the Board Game "Where’s My CABBAGE?"
This is an asymmetric hide-and-seek game set in a garden, perfect for kids and families. A 2024 release for 2 to 4 players, it features super simple rules and quick setup—just open the box and play!
How to Play "Where’s My CABBAGE?"
Gameplay splits into 2 phases: Day Phase and Night Phase. By day, gardeners move along their paths, searching for the cause of the cabbage shortage, while crafty rabbits rummage through the cabbages by night. Once players split into two teams—rabbits and gardeners—the game begins!
First Night
Every game starts with the first night. Gardeners wear special glasses (2 pairs included) to block their view of the rabbits’ actions. Rabbits hide 2 tokens in holes on the field, covered by cabbage tiles (1 token per hole).
Day Phase
Gardeners wake up and remove their glasses. They then take turns moving each token one at a time (2 tokens in the game) in any order:
- Move a token two steps along the gardener paths, without lifting a cabbage tile.
- Move a token one step, then lift an adjacent cabbage tile. If a rabbit token is found, the gardener catches it and removes it from the field. If no rabbit is there, the tile goes back cabbage-side up.
After both gardener tokens move, remove any eaten cabbage tiles from the previous night from the field, placing them in the compost (drawn on the last page of the rulebook).
Day ends here. Tired farmers put their glasses back on, and night falls...
Night Phase
Each rabbit flips the cabbage tile hiding their token to the eaten-cabbage side and takes their token.
Then, the rabbit moves their token in a straight line in one direction shown by the arrows on the eaten-cabbage tile, hiding it under the first cabbage tile in its path. Rabbits can’t stop on empty holes, eaten-cabbage tiles, or the house, nor pass through tiles already hiding a rabbit token.
Game Variants
For those familiar with the game and craving variety, the designer included bonus tiles with bushes and double cabbages.
- Bush: A rabbit can hide under a bush tile (and must stop if it’s on their path) but can’t eat it. The next night, they must move to another cabbage (or bush) tile per standard rules.
- Double Cabbage: These work like regular cabbage tiles, but when they hit the compost, they count as two cabbages eaten! This means rabbits need fewer tiles to reach their 9-cabbage goal.

One Last Note
This is a game of secret movement—a quick “Mafia” style game that’s suitable for all ages. Galu the Rooster is confident that during games with kids, you can easily guide the flow, giving them a hand. With adults, the intrigue and strategy will keep you on edge until the final move.
If you enjoy farm themes, we also recommend the stellar Eurogame "Viticulture", where you’ll cultivate vineyards and craft wine.
