“Beacon Patrol” is a cooperative family game in which you lay tiles and explore the coastline of the North Sea together. Work as a team to survey waters and inspect vital lighthouses and buoys.
Time is ticking: you must explore as much of the sea as possible. Move your ships, place tiles, and coordinate with fellow captains to achieve the best result and earn the respect of the coastal folk.
Gameplay
In “Beacon Patrol,” you and your fellow players sail the seas together to examine as many lighthouses and buoys as you can. At the end of the game, you score points for explored tiles on the map. A tile is considered explored only if it is completely surrounded on all four sides by other tiles. Explored tiles with lighthouses or buoys award extra points.
Players take turns clockwise. On your turn you may perform these actions in any order:
- Place a tile (and immediately move your ship onto it);
- Move your ship (using a movement token);
- Trade one tile with another player (once per turn).
You may perform these actions in any order and as many times as you have tiles/movement tokens.
End of the Game
The game ends when the tile supply is exhausted. Score points row by row from the top of the map downward. You only score explored tiles: lighthouse (3 pts), buoys (2 pts), and all other tiles (1 pt each).
Windmills & Harbors
Once you’ve mastered the base game, feel free to add one or both mini-expansions at once. Each introduces new tiles that open fresh scoring opportunities along the coast.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if you like, studying the illustrated PDF rules in the “Files” section.
One Last Note
Thanks to simple rules, quick playtime, charming artwork, and a compact box, you can enjoy “Beacon Patrol” anywhere and with anyone. Galu the Rooster is certain this cooperative game is perfect for playing with children.
We also suggest checking out the classic “Carcassonne”. 2–5 players become medieval lords, developing roads, cities, monasteries, and fields around the famous French fortress. Place your knights, highwaymen, monks, and farmers wisely and claim victory!
