7 Wonders: Duel: Agora is an expansion to the strategic card-based board game “7 Wonders: Duel”, released in 2020. The six-chamber senate board, senator cards, and a new victory condition deepen the game and heighten its conflict.
What Does This Expansion Add?
The focus of this expansion is politics—because not only in modern times but also in antiquity, politics shaped war, culture, religion, and trade. The player who gains a majority in the six senate chambers secures an instant political victory.
The core rules of the base game remain largely unchanged, except that white politician cards and black conspirator cards are added to the age decks, and the senate board is placed beneath the main play area.
- Playing a white card in your city lets you immediately add influence cubes to the senate or move existing cubes to other chambers based on the number of blue cards you’ve built. Gaining a majority in a chamber allows you to shift the influence marker to the control zone and claim a Decree bonus. Controlling chambers also awards victory points at the game’s end.
- Conspirator cards offer the chance to add one influence to the senate or prepare a conspiracy by taking two conspiracy cards from the deck and keeping one. On your next turn, you can ready the conspiracy by slipping a card from the table beneath it (similar to building wonders). At the start of your turn, you may enact a prepared conspiracy.
In Conclusion
If you’ve played the base Duel “to death” and crave new tactics—like using a conspiracy card to blow up your opponent’s wonder—Gallu the Rooster recommends picking up this expansion.
