It’s the role of a true gentleman: to cautiously manage his wealth, serve in public office, and converse politely at formal dinners. In other words, a true gentleman is insufferably dull. Perhaps it’s time to have a little fun.
The Prodigals Club is a secret society of young gentlemen striving to outrage high society to the fullest. They compete with each other to squander their fortunes, lose election votes, and irritate the influential.
Overview of the Board Game The Prodigals Club
The game unfolds as two or three simultaneous competitions, each with its own scoring system. In every competition, you aim to lose points. Play lasts five rounds or until one player hits zero in any competition.
But it’s not a race to see who reaches zero first. It’s about balancing multiple goals most effectively. Your final score is determined by your highest remaining score across the competitions. The player with the lowest final score wins.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, exploring the illustrated PDF rules in more detail in the “Files” section.
One Last Note
If you’re after a complex Euro-style game, "The Prodigals Club" is just what you need. Gallu the Rooster also notes that the game is fully language-independent (no text in-game), and you can find Russian rules on our site as a bonus.
Also, check out the highly engaging and atmospheric language-independent Eurogame "Dungeon Petz", where you raise magical creatures, turning them into quirky (and sometimes dangerous) monsters before profitably selling them to dungeon lords.
