The Game Dungeon Petz
Dungeon Petz is a thematic sequel to the board game Dungeon Lords, where demons raise adorable creatures, turning them into bizarre (and sometimes dangerous) monsters before profitably selling them to dungeon lords.
Gameplay
The game unfolds over several rounds. Players place their colored tokens on the board to claim specific actions, grouping them in advance and revealing them simultaneously. An area occupied by one player’s tokens becomes off-limits to others.
Before selling a fully grown, fearsome monster to a lord, you’ll need a sturdy cage, a baby creature, and everything required to meet its needs. As your pets mature, their needs—and market value—grow, tracked via rotating dials on their tokens. Most dungeon lords prefer happy critters, so keep them fed, healthy, and entertained. Players use cards and resources to satisfy these demands.
Bigger, older monsters have greater needs—more need cards—making it trickier to keep them caged, healthy, and content. Neglect their care, and a monster might try to escape and get hurt, forcing you to divert tokens to healing at the expense of other tasks. Your main income comes from selling mature monsters to lords. Plus, entering pets in exhibitions can earn extra victory points for a win.
