San Francisco, 1937. Your cargo plane flies into a portal in the sky and transports you to a harsh realm where wondrous creatures roam, gods weave intrigues, and dangers lurk at every turn. Can you find your way back before the portal closes?
“Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies” is a standalone sequel set in the Sleeping Gods universe. While it ties into some plotlines from the previous game, you don’t need to play the first one to fully enjoy and complete it. You’ll meet entirely new characters and dive into unique stories.
Collector's Edition
Inside the box of “Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies,” unlike the standard edition, you’ll find a painted airplane miniature, 3 additional combat dice, 15 metal endurance tokens, 3 promo cards, a miniature for each of the five playable characters (the standard edition’s cardboard stands are also included), and the “Thunderstorm Isle” expansion. In other words, all content ever released for the game.
“Thunderstorm Isle” is a remote corner beyond the atlas, where you can fly your airplane. It includes 40 adventure and quest cards, a new map, traveling encounters, and a little story booklet.
You can incorporate this expansion into any of your campaigns—even your first one. Unlike the game’s distant locations, Thunderstorm Isle is a full map with multiple sites. Explore it anytime using the flight action. To leave, simply return to your airplane and head back to the game’s atlas.
Gameplay
The goal in “Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies” is to survive the perils of this fantastical world and return home to San Francisco. To do so, you’ll travel using an atlas, explore new locales, complete quests, and hunt for rare totems holding the power to take you back to Earth.
Each session lasts as long as you want. Pause anytime, log your progress in the ship’s journal, and pick up right where you left off later. Play solo or with friends, and add or remove players on the fly. Your mission is to find as many totems as possible, hidden across the world. Like reading a book, immerse yourself in the adventure for 1–2 hours per session until you finish. You’ll uncover new lands, stumble into tales, and overcome obstacles along the way.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, exploring the illustrated PDF rules in the “Files” section.
