The Game Chronicles of Crime

This marks a new milestone in board gaming. Chronicles of Crime blends physical components with cutting-edge technology to deliver an extraordinary experience! A free companion app acts as your guide, tracking time, providing atmospheric music, and virtually transporting you to the crime scene. Players take on the role of detectives, unraveling criminal cases and bringing culprits to justice. A vast array of investigations awaits—robberies, murders, kidnappings—you name it, modern cities aren’t the safest places!

What sets “Chronicles of Crime” apart from other detective games is its replayability. Each new scenario reuses the game’s components in fresh ways, and character cards represent different people across campaigns. To discover a character’s role in a given case, scan the unique barcode on their card.

The game offers several unique scenarios, composed of episodes playable as standalone mysteries or a cohesive story. During investigations, you’ll move between districts, interview witnesses, find and analyze evidence, and consult specialists for help. A doctor, hacker, scientist, and criminologist are always just a call away! Every action costs time, tracked by the app—the faster you solve the crime, the higher your team’s final score.

No crime will go unsolved, and all secrets will be revealed! It’s time to get to the bottom of the truth!

Gameplay

The game heavily integrates a digital app. First, it guides you through your chosen scenario (selected within the app), offering various actions and story developments. Second, your phone or tablet doubles as an investigation tool! Third—and most thrilling—you can personally search for evidence in a virtual world. This comes in two modes: panoramic (via phone) or 3D (with VR glasses, not included). You get 40 seconds to find as many clues as possible.

By scanning cards, your team performs various actions:

• Scanning a district lets you move between locations.
• Scanning a character allows you to interrogate them, asking about other characters or evidence.
• Scanning evidence lets you collect it—though some items may be relevant to your case, while others might require further searching.
• Scanning an expert connects you with a specialist to ask questions in their field.

Every action consumes time, and solving the case quickly boosts your score. As you play, evidence, character, and district cards pile up on the table, gradually clarifying the story. The game boasts immense replayability and variety.

The game ends whenever players choose, by submitting a report to the police chief via the app. Your team then answers a few questions and scans cards to back up your conclusions. The app calculates your results, factoring in the time spent on the scenario. You can also view the correct solution if you hit a snag or replay the scenario right away.
