Thunder Road: Vendetta is a board game race for 2–4 players with a modular board, where you’ll command a gang of cars and race for survival across rugged terrain filled with traps, ramps, oil slicks, and more.
A Revamped Classic
Thunder Road: Vendetta is a reimagined version of the 1986 classic about asphalt chaos. Assemble your team, roll dice, tear across roads in cars, blast from cannons, and try not to crash spectacularly.
The new edition brings a slew of cool updates, like random hazard tokens: debris, oil slicks, and more. Damage isn’t “one hit and done” anymore—draw damage tokens with wild effects. Plus, your turns offer more options: assign a die to your team panel to repair a car, activate nitro boost, or send your combat helicopter into battle, raining fire on foes.
Gameplay
Each racer has their own gang, including cars of various sizes and a helicopter. Each vehicle type has unique traits like ramming power and maneuverability. The road they race on consists of terrain cells, some affecting movement.
Each turn starts with a dice roll—the number determines your movement points. Then check your team panel and pick an action to assign a die to.
There are 4 teams:
- Airstrike (helicopter shot)
- Nitro (extra movement points)
- Drift (pass through the first cell occupied by another car without colliding)
- Repair (fix a car)
In the movement phase, your car advances along the road. You must use all movement points, no matter how advantageous. Movement is limited to one of three cells in your forward sector. Rolling (1 cell) is allowed. Collisions can occur—post-crash, unused movement points are lost, and dice rolls determine the direction of the spinning car.
You can also fire—attacking vehicles in your forward sector. Success is rolled on a die. Shooting can disable enemy cars. If a player has no functional cars left, they’re out.
Who Wins?
The first car to reach the finish token wins. Or, if all racers are eliminated before the finish, victory goes to the player with at least one surviving car.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, exploring the illustrated PDF rules in the “Files” section.
