“One Night: Ultimate Werewolf” is a fast story-driven role-playing board game created on the basis of the popular game “Mafia”, but without a host and without player elimination. One game lasts about 10 minutes.
In a game for 3–10 participants everyone receives a role: a cunning werewolf, a sly Troublemaker, a useful Seer or one of a dozen other characters with unique abilities. In one night your village must decide who the werewolves are… because to win it is enough to kill at least one of them!
Gameplay
Most actions take place at night, when players with closed eyes use their abilities (sometimes swapping other players’ cards). In the morning everyone wakes up, discusses what could have happened, and tries to understand:
- which team they are actually playing for (because the card could have been swapped);
- who the werewolves are.
At the end everyone votes against someone. The one who receives the majority of votes “dies”.
- If at least one werewolf dies — the villagers win.
- If no werewolf dies — the werewolf team wins.
Each game is very short, so you will probably play several times in a row. With experience you will learn to reveal information at exactly the right moment… and to lie in time.
We recommend watching the video rules in the “Video” section and, if desired, studying the rules in more detail in PDF format in the “Files” section.
One last note
Galu the Rooster recommends trying the fast and tense game “One Night: Ultimate Werewolf” — the perfect choice for a company that loves bluff, deduction and short but very intense games!
We also recommend paying attention to the board game for companies — “Citadels”, where from 2 to 8 architects will compete who will build a medieval city faster and better.
