“Inis” is a popular strategic board game for 2–4 players, set in the times of the flourishing of the ancient Celts, when history and legends were one.

Players take on the roles of chieftains leading their clans across the seas from Ireland to a newly discovered island. They found settlements there, explore the surrounding territories, extract minerals, build citadels and sanctuaries for their protection. Bards sing of their gods and heroes, druids act as advisors, and skilled craftsmen immortalize the memory of Celtic civilization.

Every chieftain believes that he alone has the right to rule the island. Only time will tell which of them will prove worthy of taking the throne and becoming the Ard Rí, the High King of the new land!

• Completely redesigned card design;
• Improved structure of the rulebook with built-in answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) and corrected wording, while fully preserving the classic gameplay without any changes to the mechanics.

Gameplay

Players compete for the title of High King of the new land. Each round, players check whether anyone has become the new ruler. To be elected High King, you must fulfill the most victory conditions:

• Your clans must be present on at least 6 territories;
• You must be the chieftain of at least 6 opposing clans;
• Your clans must be present on territories that together have at least 6 sanctuaries.

Each round consists of two phases:

1. The Assembly phase, during which players check the fulfillment of victory conditions, determine the chieftains and choose action cards;
2. The Season phase, during which players play cards from their hand.

In the game “Inis”, to perform any action (building sanctuaries, placing new clans, moving clans, etc.) you must play a card. That is why carefully select your cards during the Assembly phase.
