"Unmatched: Jurassic Park - Dr. Sattler vs. T. Rex" is a standalone expansion for the Unmatched board game series. It can be played on its own or combined and mixed with other expansions.
The Unmatched Universe
Unmatched is a highly asymmetrical miniature fighting game for two or four players. Each hero is represented by a unique deck designed to capture their style and legend. Tactical moves and unpredictable combat resolution create a unique gameplay experience that rewards skill, but just as you master one set, new heroes appear to provide all-new matchups.
Unmatched: Jurassic Park — Dr. Sattler vs. T. Rex
In the box, you’ll find miniatures, assistant tokens, and hero decks for the following characters:
- Dr. Sattler: Together with her assistant, Dr. Malcolm, she will use all her scientific knowledge and insight to maximize the advantages of the terrain on the battlefield. Intelligence, learning, and agility versus claws, size, and strength — that’s what awaits players in this edition!
- T. Rex: The giant from the Cretaceous period is an unmatched predator, the king among all dinosaurs. Even 65 million years later, the Tyrannosaurus remains a terrifying and relentless hunting machine with honed instincts that leave no chance for its prey.
Gameplay Innovations
- Large Fighter: The size of the T. Rex will, for the first time for Ukrainian players, weigh heavily in the tactical use of the field. Specifically, large fighters cannot use secret passages from "Unmatched: Cobble & Fog" and doors from "Unmatched: Little Red Riding Hood vs. Beowulf" cannot be closed if a large fighter occupies both spaces adjacent to them. The close-range attacks of the large fighter can reach opponents two spaces away, and the fighter’s increased base often occupies two spaces simultaneously, affecting attacks against the Tyrannosaurus. However, for attacks that target multiple spaces at once, the opponent must still treat the large fighter as if it occupies only one space.
- Insight: Dr. Sattler and Dr. Malcolm insightfully study the battlefield to gain advantages from the terrain. To assist with this, they have special tokens that don’t directly influence the battlefield but will affect the effects of the scientists' played cards.
Gameplay
The basic rules of Unmatched haven’t changed. To win, you must reduce the opponent’s hero's life to zero. Players take turns. On your turn, you perform any two actions — maneuver (draw a card and move your fighters), feint (play a feint card), and/or attack (attack an enemy fighter, with both players choosing attack and defense cards).
